Josh Holtz

Hi, I'm Josh

I build developer tools and ship indie apps.

I've spent the last decade helping developers ship apps. I maintain fastlane, am Engineering Manager of the Monetization team at RevenueCat, run Indie Dev Monday, and organize Deep Dish Swift.

Along the way, I've built a bunch of my own apps. And every time I shipped something, I'd hit the same wall: How do I know if this is working?

The big analytics tools were overkill. I didn't need user journey mapping or predictive cohort analysis. I just wanted to know: Are people signing up? Where are they dropping off? Who's coming back?

So I built the thing I wanted. Nothing fancy. Just the answers I needed without the setup I didn't.

What this is (and isn't)

What this is

  • A tool I built for myself and share with others
  • Focused on doing a few things well
  • Built to stick around, not to flip
  • Something I use every day

What this isn't

  • VC-backed with a growth team
  • Trying to be everything for everyone
  • Waiting to pivot or get acquired
  • Collecting data to sell ads

I call it "mostly good" because I believe in honest marketing.
It does what it says. It just doesn't oversell it.

Your data is yours

I'm not in the ad business. Your product data belongs to you. I don't sell it, share it, or use it to train models.

No ad business No surveillance I use it too
